That attitude is in many ways the social norm in some of these suppressive and religious controlled countries. That outrage surfaced over that statement is surprising in itself if you think about it. What’s even more ridiculous is if you think about the statement literally. It’s totally possible to physically penetrate a woman even if her legs would be locked tight together. My guess is those who say things like that either haven’t had sex or stick to the very basics in the bedroom. I'm from Finland. This is pretty much the mentality here as well. Plus the sentences are ridiculous; you can violently rape someone and ruin their life and well-being, and get away with a small fine. Even if you do get jail time, it's 2-4 years. With good behavior you'll serve half of it. In my case, the police refused to even hear me out. I was attacked by a stranger, almost right on my doorstep. I called the police only for the officer to ask about what I was wearing (at that point, very little, since my clothes had been ripped to shreds), why I'd been out and saying "if you'd just stay home, nothing would happen to you", asking how much I'd had to drink (none, I have never been drunk in my life) and suggesting I had "let them (the perp) understand I was fair game). They told me flat-out that "this story of yours isn't working, go home and sleep it off". Right.
