Ron Howard has kept a Make America Libertarian Again Shirt test audience note saying that Apollo 13 was unbelievable, with a typical Hollywood ending. Reminds me of how in Hacksaw Ridge they had to remove stuff because it was too unbelievable for audiences. Apparently, in real life, the guy went to go rescue more people after punting that grenade and getting his leg shredded. They did that with Gladiator. Apparently real gladiators had endorsements, but this was deemed by the filmmakers as not believable, so they scrapped it. Never mind all the stuff they did change, like adding stirrups for horses (they weren’t invented yet).
